A self portrait of contemporary artist Robert Betteley, featured on the About page of his official website.

“I have finally come to realize the real importance and influence photography has had on my life; from seeing the world from a broader and different perspective, the camaraderie, connection, and interaction with others; the ability to enjoy reminiscing and remembering the past, that heartwarming, euphoric, beautiful or captivated feeling I get capturing life experiences for myself and others”

Traveler, wanderer, adventurer, explorer, entrepreneur, and all with camera close at hand. Photography continues to be a growing and ever evolving passion in my life and the path I was meant to follow. Wanting, needing to inspire, to motivate, to share the wonderful beauty of the world and experiences of life through my eyes and the lens of a camera.

I was born in Milton Ontario, grew up in Southwestern Ontario and called Nassau Bahamas home for a brief time. Home is currently in the small quaint, picturesque town of Elora, shared with my love Juanita, and a brood of four-legged friends (Basil, Stella, Shecky – dogs and Irwin the cat) but also enjoy our little piece of paradise on a small island in the Bay of Islands near Manitoulin Island.

During my time away from the camera, but never too far, you can find me trying to keep in shape at the gym, running, backcountry camping/hiking, or almost any other activity outdoors. Also exploring some new experiences, such as learning a second language (Spanish), trying to sing and on occasion a background actor in TV and movies, just to keep life interesting.
